Valentine's Day=Love

We have just finished up our traditional candle-lit Valentine's dinner. I made Honey-mustard Pork scallopine and Ryan made some mixed veggies. This is our second year following this tradition. Last year we just used some hurricane candles to light our dinner. This year I wanted to do something with MUCH more meaning...so I dug out the unity candle from our wedding and the girls' baptism candles. So during prayer time we asked the girls what Valentine's Day was a celebration of. After some very interesting answers we eventually got the answer we were looking for...Valentine's Day is all about L-O-V-E. Ryan and I went on to explain the meaning and uses of the unity candle in a wedding ceremony. The girls thought it was pretty neat! Then we began the discussion of their baptisms and what their candles represented. We talked about the greatest love of all! The love that God has for all of us that He gave His only Son for us. The girls were very involved in the discussion. It was a very wonderful family moment...one of those that you just burn into your memory so you can keep it close to your heart forever!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believes in him, will not perish, but have everlasting life! John 3:16
