Or maybe it would be better titled "Nesting without the protuding tummy". But anyway, I've been itching to make some home improvements. I have a lot of nail pops to fix...apparently 2008 was the year for some major house settling. I had the ladder out and all my tools set to go, but when I pulled off some bulging plaster I saw that the nail pops in the ceiling were actually nails and not screws. So I wanted to wait to get a "professional" opinion from Mom as to whether I should just reset the nails, or try to replace them with screws. I really think it's strange that they used nails in the ceiling to hang the drywall, but they used screws on the walls, hmmm.
And paint....boy oh boy....does our downstairs need some paint! We still have the lovely contractors paint in the majority rooms downstairs. The only rooms we've painted have been the family room and powder room. And they both look really nice! Our kitchen in in dire need of some paint! And the foyer is in pretty bad shape too, but being two story, that's not something I'm going to be doing. I think I would hurt myself if I tried...I get dizzy just standing on a 6ft ladder doing regular rooms. That's bad. There are some really fancy schmancy things I want to do to the downstairs, but since we are working on the basement, those things have taken a back seat for a while. So, I told Ryan that I just wanted to paint for now so the rooms don't look so nasty. He's going to get me a paint budget, yay!
Poor K-K had a really bad earache on Saturday night. She kept me up from 4am to 7:30. Then we just decided to get up and start our day. She fell asleep off and on in the wee hours, but I didn't sleep because I was busy massaging behind her ear. It was the only thing that made it feel better. I think her nasty cold just clogged her ear up and there was no infection because she is fine today and was fine most of the day yesterday once the pain stopped. I had to get some food in her tummy so I could give her some ibuprofen since the tylenol didn't do anything for her. Then I have an eye mask that can be heated in the microwave and we strapped that thing on her head and put some nice warm heat on her ear....and then she was all better! She didn't have any trouble sleeping last night, woo hoo! That means I didn't either...but I still had a terrible time dragging myself out of bed this morning, bleh!
