We finally started putting up some walls in our basement! Well...we don't have any walls yet, just the plates on the bottom that the walls are going to sit on. We started on the exercise room, since that is the room we use the most currently. And besides the main area of the basement, it is the biggest room...almost 20' x 20'. I tell you though, I'm really glad Ryan got a power miter saw for Christmas, because that probably cut our time down by more than half! It took us all day, but we got the bottom plates down around the entire room...we estimated our amount of treated lumber pretty spot on...we only had one 2x4 left.
The girls were very good while Ryan and I were working all day. They stayed upstairs with the exception of one time when Kaylee wanted to come down and see what we had accomplished...but she had been invited down. The girls didn't argue or fight even once! And they were on their own all day. They're pretty special!
The dogs jumped every time Ryan put a tapcon into the floor. It basically sounded like he was shooting a shotgun in the basement. They didn't start shaking or anything, but Murphy followed me around everywhere and kept trying to sit on my lap. Abby was fine though. I didn't help with that part because I couldn't get my ear plugs to stay in. I have never been able to wear the expandable foam ear plugs though. I'll have to find some kind of ear cover for the next room we work on. That's alright though...that part was pretty much a one person job.
But I think we had fun today! I did anyway!

Huge Progress! Wish I could trust the boy on his own.
