We had a ton of fun! I think Murphy enjoyed it the most and Abby the least. Murphy ran around like she was a puppy again...getting snow on her head and chasing the girls...and Abby just stood by the back door staring at me (party pooper!). The girls played while I did some shovelling of the driveway. Then when it was Ryan's turn, I went in the back yard with the girls...pushed them down a couple of times...did a few running tackles and at one point I was laying on top of Alexis and she was totally surrounded by snow! Good times! The girls did push me down once. After we all got cold enough we headed inside and the girls sat in front of the fireplace wrapped in blankies drinking some warm chocolate milk. Ryan and I had coffee...warm chocolate milk didn't sound as good as coffee! The driveway is only 1/3 of the way done, but we had fun!

My Super Trooper
subtitled: A theory
I have a theory about Kaylee's preference to be naked. I'm sure most of you remember her terrible eczema when she was a baby. Well, I'm sad to say that it always makes a nasty return in the winter. This poor baby has nasty cracked feet and red rashy places all over her legs, hiney cheeks, arms, and even sometimes her facial cheeks and her belly. Now I do my best to treat her skin. She gets all lathered up in Aquaphor ointment after every bath. I put so much of that stuff on her that she's super shiny and slick. I'm beginning to wonder if she's more comfortable...ie less itchy...when she's clothe-less. I think it's a pretty good theory. But she is a super trooper. She very rarely complains about being itchy, even though I do catch her digging away at her skin at times. I do discourage the scratching with the hope that we can prevent skin infections and WCS (worse case scenario) MRSA. She is VERY good about listening to me. Luckily, I take both girls in to see their doctor on President's day. So maybe she will have some more advice about combatting the eczema in the winter. This girl just needs some sunshine and HOT-Sticky weather....don't we all...
Here's a snapshot of her cracked foot...viewer discretion is advised...

To God Be the Glory
I was thinking of this song today (singing it in my head actually). I just thought I would share the lyrics. It is My Tribute by Andrae Crouch...this is straight from my memory, so it may not be 100% accurate:
How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved, yet You gave to prove Your love for me.
The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and EVER hope to be....I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the Glory, to God be the Glory,
To God be the Glory for the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me.
With His power He has raised me.
To God be the Glory for the things He has done.
Just let me live my life,
Let it be pleasing, Lord to Thee.
And if I gain any praise let it go to Calvary!
With His blood He has saved me.
With His power He has raised me.
To God be the Glory for the things He has done!
Amen!

Something new from Alexis
They had to do speeches in class on optimism and pessimism. I believe they got to choose which one they did. Anyway, here is Alexis's speech on optimism:
For me, optimism is looking on the bright side of things. George W. Bush was an honest man. He tried his best to make our country a better place. I think Obama will do the same. I'm thankful that our country is free. Have you ever thought about how sad it would be to live in another country? It's probably as sad as can be. I am thankful for school. I'm sorry for people who go to the hospital and miss it. I'm happy that we get to make friends there. I am thankful for our health. I'm sorry for people who have cancer and have to take icky, icky medicine. Believe me, it's probably not fun. I'm thankful for my family. Think about it, if you didn't have a family, you'd probably cry. You would do the same thing if you didn't have friends. You should be VERY optimistic about work. If you didn't work, you wouldn't be able to have those special things in your life. Now that you know about it, I say the best idea is to be optimistic your whole life!

Trying a Slideshow
Mom and Dad bought me Photoshop Elements for Christmas. I've been playing around with it a little bit. The song is a Rich Mullins song (with a guest voice of Michael W. Smith). Ryan sang this as a solo for Morning Song one time. Alexis sang along with him on the chorus. It was great!
Finally!
I've been working on this new site since yesterday morning trying to get it to look neat! I'm glad I finally got it close to what I wanted to do.
I haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep my Xanga page or not. For now I am until I get this thing worked out and give it a go to see if I like it as much. At the very least, you should be able to leave comments on this blog, unlike Xanga. Well, that's all for now. I have a girl getting ready for school so I should probably do something productive myself now...
