Whilrwind!

Another vacation has come and gone. We all sure had a great time this year, especially having the whole family there for the full two weeks. Well, I guess not everybody. Ryan had to do some continuing education in Orlando the first week. But had he not signed up for that, he would not have even been in the same country. So as it happened, his class lasted from 7:30am to 1:00pm and he drove to the beach once his class was out. The girls and I got to spend a couple of days in Orlando with him too. We all caravanned over to Downtown Disney Thursday early evening and ate at Bongos. The food was good but the music was even better! The girls and I stayed with Ryan through Saturday. That was the only time we gotted rained on the entire trip! And man did it pour! On Friday while Ryan was in class we hit the 'quiet' pool and the playground.

Once we got back to our hotel room, the maid was cleaning it so we just sat down by the fountain outside our room.
And played on the hammocks

Then the rain cut loose! It rained most of the rest of the afternoon but by the evening, the girls were able to play at the big pool with the waterslide. They went down the slide for almost 3 hours straight!
Saturday we got to visit with some of our family. We met Grandma and Grandpa Chambers, Aunt Teri, Cathy, Jack, and Cameron at the Rainforest Cafe. We had a great time visiting with them and Cameron is such a cutie! And she's so well behaved and sweet! Ryan figured out that it had been 13 years since he had last seen his cousin Cathy. He doesn't want to let that same amount of time slip by again. My guess is we'll try to visit with them during our annual Florida vacations from here on out. After our lunch the four of us headed back to Daytona to drop Ryan's rental car off. Mom and Dad came and picked us up and we headed to the condo at the beach. We had such an awesome time with our family...even being all bunched together like we were. Alexis got pretty depressed on our last day on the beach, but once I reminded her that she shouldn't ruin her last day by worrying about leaving, she was much better. There's so much more to tell about our fun on the beach, but my mommy duties are calling:)

Morning Tea

So as I've mentioned, we've been busy going through things. One of the ways I got the girls to give up their plastic Disney Princess tea set was to tell them that we could have real tea with my tiny china tea set. So this morning that's what we did.

I'm so proud of those girls. We have gotten a lot done this week! Here is a picture of Kaylee's empty room:

And here is all that is left of what is in Kaylee's closet:

And today we got all the books out of the playroom (sorry for the glare from the white trim):

I still have a lot to do! But I feel like I'm finally getting a lot accomplished. I'm sure having two of the best helpers in the world has a lot to do with that :).

Major Accomplishments-Major Help

The girls and I put in almost 8 hours of work yesterday! We worked more on moving their things into the one bedroom. Let me tell you, condensing three rooms worth of stuff down to one room is no easy task! But, we have Kaylee's room completely empty and the only things left in the playroom for us to go through are all the books and the Gamecube stuff. We have got a major load to take to Goodwill. Here is a picture of the hallway upstairs and all the things the girls decided to donate (minus the baby toys...we're saving those for our baby visitors):
The stuff stretches all along our hallway! They did so well going through their things, which I know is really hard to do! We also had to store a lot of their toys because we can't take all of them with us. So before we started on Monday, I told the girls we could take whatever we could fit in the one room and they needed to store everything else. But I also told them that they could get the stored toys out to play with when we home to come to visit. Man our girls have A LOT of toys. Just check out the pile:
And this is how much space their toys took up in the basement:

They did a very good job! They worked so hard yesterday. I think we are going to take the day off and have some pool time today (be nice now Mother Nature!). And to reward the girls for all their hard work, I took them to McDonalds for Happy Meals...AND I let them pick out some doughnuts for breakfast at the grocery store :)

Roommates!

One of the many things on my "to do" list for our move, is to move the girls into the same room. We started working on that yesterday and the girls spent their first night together as roommates :) I think they both enjoyed it, though I did hear that Kaylee "missed" her old room. The girls helped decide where to put the furniture and after we set up the beds yesterday, they decided it looked like a hotel room....which brought on the "hotel" game that they've been playing ever since. They've been using real hotel key cards to go in the bedroom door and everything, ha! Anyway, here is a picture of the roomies:
Here is another picture I had to share. This is one of Kaylee just being goofy while she was eating her Spaghetti O's and Franks:

Alexis had her annual eye appointment this morning. It turned out that she doesn't need her glasses any more. I think she might be a little disappointed. But before we went she had been saying that she thought her eyes were better and that she didn't need them any more. What a smart girl!
