First Piano Recital

Once I knew that the girls and I would not be going back to our home in Spain after our Christmas visit, I decided it was time for them to start piano lessons.  It all started because Kaylee kept saying she wanted to learn how to play the piano.  It took us a couple of weeks to find a piano teacher, but with the help of a friend, we found our teacher and she only lives 2 minutes away!  So the girls began their lessons (never having taken any lessons before) in March.  They had their first recital last night.  I don't know what you will think, but after only 3 months of lessons, I am extremely impressed with their ability!

First up is Kaylee:

I think the bench was too far away from the piano for her.  She made a few mistakes, but she kept right on going!  She did such a great job.  For the perfectionist that she is, I was very surprised that she didn't cry in frustration.  She's very much like her daddy!  But she was the perfect performer last night.

Now Alexis:

She also did an excellent job.  Of course she was nervous but it didn't show at all.  Alexis didn't want to take piano lessons at first, but I made her go to the first lesson and told her that I wanted her to finish out the school year of lessons.  If she didn't like it still after that, I wouldn't make her start up again in the fall.  But after the first lesson she was in love!

I may be biased, but these girls are talented!
