We realized when we had the top plate and three or four studs put up that we had forgotten to put the vapor barrier up...woopsie! But, as you can see, we were able to get it behind the studs. We also discovered some mold on the floor joists and sub floor along the wall we were working on. Chances are it has been there since the house was built because I remember a lot of standing water in the basement and on the upper floors as well. This is the first time we've ever had a spot light shining in the basement. I checked all the other areas of the basement and this is the only place with any mold. It should be pretty easy to clean up, so hopefully that will take care of it.
Also, I was expecting the vapor barrier to be clear, but it's black. I don't think that will make any difference though. As long as it keeps the moisture out we'll be good. Our basement is really pretty dry as far as basements go. We tested an area of the basement wall for moisture and after 4 or 5 days, no moisture had formed on our test plastic. So now we're taking the week off and we'll hopefully have some time this coming weekend to get some more walls up.
I think I've picked out a paint color for our kitchen. I'm not sure when I'll actually go get the paint and supplies or even when I'll get a chance to paint, but I'm glad to have a color picked out.
